W-League Honors Locals

Trio Named to All-East Team

Franklin Pierce�s Angelika Johansson, UConn�s Brittany Taylor and the Boston Renegades� Casey Brown have been named to the USL W-League�s All-Eastern Conference team.

Johansson has led the undefeated Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues (12-0-2, 38 points) in both goals and assists throughout the W-league regular season. She is second in the league in points with 36 and tied for second in goals with 14.

On four occasions Johansson netted the match-winning goal. She has also dished eight assists, tied for third best in the league. So far this season, Johansson has earned three W-League �Team of the Week� honors, and was named W-League �Player of the Week� on June 10th.

Johansson�s Hudson Valley teammate, Taylor led a defense that allowed just nine goals in 14 regular season matches. Prior to taking a medical redshirt in 2008 for UConn, Taylor was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year in �07. A forward her first two seasons in college, Taylor has started 64 of the Huskies� 65 games during her career.

Brown, a senior at Boston University, was a rock in the Renegades� defense this summer, playing every minute of the team�s 14 games as it finished with a solid 7-3-4 record.
