July 20, 2008

The Vermont Voltage men won their fourth straight game at home with a 3-0 triumph over the Ottawa Fury in front of the home fans on Saturday.

Forward Matt Stedman scored two goals for the Voltage, one assisted by veteran Bo Vuckovic and the other by captain Bo Simic. Tomy Szczypiorski put the final goal away for the Voltage off a cross from Stedman.

Defender Justin VanMatre had an outstanding match for the Voltage, and had a strong presence in the air.

Vermont improved to 8-6-1 with the victory over the Fury, who were one of the league’s top teams, heading into the game with a 9-3-3 record that ultimately slipped to 9-4-3.
