UMass to Host Illinois-Chicago
Minutemen Could Advance to First Final Four

AMHERST, Mass. – The UMass men's soccer team will continue its historic run in the NCAA Tournament against Illinois-Chicago this Sunday at noon on the Minutemen’s Rudd Field.
The Minutemen defeated fellow upstart Central Connecticut, 3-1, on Sunday to advance to the Round of Eight. Illinois-Chicago defeated No. 8 seed Creighton to advance.
The pairing pits two of the top defensive units in the nation. The Flames have not allowed a goal the entire tournament, while UMass boasts nine shutouts this season and a 0.77 goals against average.
The winner of the UMass/UIC game will face the winner of Bradley/No. 5-seed Ohio State. On the other side of the bracket, No. 3-seed UConn will face No. 11-seed Virginia Tech and No. 10-seed Notre Dame will face No. 2-seed Wake Forest.
The winners from the round will earn a berth into the NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup which will be held in Cary, N.C., from Dec. 14-16.
