Huskies Come in at No. 9
December 28, 2007
The University of Connecticut women's soccer team's run to the NCAA Quarterfinals vaulted the squad into the No. 9 ranking in the final NSCAA/adidas women's soccer poll conducted at the conclusion of the season.
The Huskies had been ranked No. 24 before their postseason run that saw them defeat Boston College in penalty kicks in the first round, take down Wake Forest, 1-0, in the second round, then upset Stanford, 2-0, in the third round.
UConn was finally ousted by Florida State, 3-2, in a two-overtime thriller in the Quarterfinals.
BC was the only other New England school to make the final poll, coming in at No. 24 after ending the season ranked 17th.
