Thorpe, Barbosa Named to Team of the Week

Two Western Mass. Pioneers were named to the USL Second Division Team of the Week for their efforts in winning effort against Charlotte.

Pioneer goalkeeper James Thorpe was named the goalkeeper on the USL-2 Team of the Week for the second straight time. The Franklin Pierce alum, who was the Player of the Week last week, made 14 saves in a 2-0 Western Mass. triumph over Charlotte.

Meanwhile, forward Almir Barbosa was also honored. The forward scored both goals in the 2-0 win.
