Two Locals on W-League East Team

Velaj, Luckner Make Yearly All-Stars

Connecticut Passion forward Furtuna Velaj and Boston Renegade defender Therese Luckner were named to the W-League Eastern Conference All Conference Team on Friday.

Velaj, a three-time member of the league’s Team of the Week, was the Passion’s leading scorer in its first season of W League play. She had a team-high eight goals to go along with one assist for 17 points.

Luckner, a native of Sweden, backboned a Boston defense that allowed just 12 goals all season.
