Two Locals Earn AE Rookie Honors

BU's Reilly and Hartford's Hamilton Share Award

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Two local players shared America East women's soccer Rookie of the Week honors.

Boston University goalkeeper Janie Reilly and Hartford forward Mary Beth Hamilton were selected as co-Rookies of the Week Monday. Reilly made 11 saves during the week, posting a 1-0-1 record. She had six saves in a 1-0 shutout victory at Brown Wednesday and made five saves in a 1-1 draw with Minnesota Friday.

Hamilton, a Columbia, Conn. native, made her first collegiate goal one she won’t forget when she found the back of the net in the 100th minute in a 1-0 overtime win at Holy Cross Sunday.
