Two Aztecs Make All WPSL

Mundy, Phillips Earn Top League Honors

SACRAMENTO, CA – Three players with local ties made the 2009 All-WPSL First Team, announced last Friday.

Two cornerstones of the Boston Aztecs and one current member of the Boston College women’s soccer team made the squad. Midfielder Sophia Mundy and goalkeeper Ashley Phillips made it from the Aztecs, while Long Island defender Alyssa Pember, also of BC, earned a nod.

The All-WPSL Second Team featured two more locals, with New England Mutiny midfielder Jenny Maurer and Long Island Fury and Boston College midfielder Kelly Henderson making the list.
