Trinity's Ley NESCAC's Top Rookie
Fellow Freshman Leigh Howard Also Earns League Honors

Trinity College women’s soccer freshman forward Jenny Ley (Warwick, R.I.) was selected as the 2008 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie of the Year and to the All-NESCAC women’s soccer second team, while fellow Bantam freshman forward Leigh Howard (Bethany, Conn.) also graced the All-NESCAC second team.
Ley started every game and led the team in scoring with eight goals (fourth in NESCAC) and eight assists (second in NESCAC) for 24 points (fourth in NESCAC) with 41 shots taken and a pair of game-winning goals.
Howard played in every game with 14 starts and led the team in goals with nine (third in NESCAC) to go with two assists for 20 points. She led the squad in shots with 56 and recorded two game-winning tallies.
The Trinity women’s soccer squad, coached by Michael Smith, posted a 9-6 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the NESCAC. The Bantam women fell, 2-0, at Middlebury in the opening round of the league tournament, making their second consecutive appearance in the postseason.
