Three Locals on WPSL Team of the Week

Two from SoccerPlus, One from Aztecs

Three local players, including two from SoccerPlus Connecticut, made the WPSL Team of the Week for their efforts last week through the weekend.

Kerry Connors of the Boston Aztecs along with Tiffany Weimer and Niki Cross of the SoccerPlus Reds were honored with spots on the team.

Weimer, the reigning WPSL East Player of the Year and U.S. Women's National Team Pool member, picked up where she left off last summer, notching a goal and an assist in a win over Adirondack on May 23. Weimer already leads the league in scoring with five goals and three assists for the undefeated SoccerPlus CT side.

Weimer’s teammate, defender Niki Cross, led the Reds back line to their third consecutive shutout. Connors, a midfielder/forward for the Aztecs’ women side, recorded a hat trick in Boston’s 5-0 win over the Massachusetts Stingers May 22.

Long Island forward Alaina Beyar and Los Angeles goalkeeper Nakisha Gutierrez were named the WPSL Co-Players of the Week.
