Three Area Players on Women's Hermann Trophy List

Boston College’s Gina DiMartino and UConn’s Stephanie Labbe and Brittany Taylor were among the 47 women’s college soccer players named to the Missouri Athletics Club’s Hermann Trophy Watch List.

DiMartino’s sister, Christina of UCLA, was also named to the list.

Reigning women’s champs USC was one of three teams with three players named to the list, along with Penn State and North Carolina. UConn was one of 10 schools with two players on the watch list.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is given annually to the nation’s best college soccer player, decided by Division I head coaches who are current members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The 15 semifinalists are announced in November, with three finalists announced in early December. Those three are then invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis in January where the winner is announced at a presentation banquet.
