Offense Runs Wild in Second Conference Win

October 5, 2007

ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior Marisha Schumacher-Hodge headed an active Boston University offense, notching a goal and two assists in the BU women’s 4-0 win over Albany Thursday.

Sophomore Casey Brown netted the game-winning goal just six minutes into the game when the Natick, Mass. native tallied her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Schumacher-Hodge.

BU put one more on the board with a goal from Pallotta (Andover, Mass.) at 26:31. Schumacher-Hodge registered her second assist on the day when she feed a pass to Emily Pallotta (Andover, Mass.), who was open on the far post.

Schumacher-Hodge then did it herself, striking with less than 12 minutes remaining in the first half to give the Terriers a 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Freshman Stephanie Croghan earned her first collegiate goal with 24:10 left on the scoreboard when she put home a rebound off a shot from Pallotta at the top of the box.

Senior goalkeepers Christina Reuter and Lauren Stewart didn’t have to do much in net, making a combined one save – by Stewart -- to share the shutout.

BU improved to 5-5-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the America East, while the Great Danes fall to 3-5-3 overall and 0-2-0 in the conference.

BU outshot Albany, 16-5, and held a 4-0 edge in corner kick situations.
