Terriers' Hlavaty Recognized

Junior Notched His First Two Goals of Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Boston University men’s soccer midfielder Neil Hlavaty was named America East Player of the Week for his efforts in two Terrier wins last week.

Hlavaty scored his first two goals of the season in the Terriers’ wins over Central Florida and Rhode Island.

The junior buried a pass from sophomore Samuel Appiah at 45:49 against UCF to post BU's first goal in a 3-2 win against the Knights. Hlavaty struck again last Friday, tallying the Terriers' second score of the game against URI. He sent home a free kick from just outside the box at 44:35 to put BU up 2-0 on the Rams going into the half.

The Illinois native is tied with junior Petur Sigurdsson for BU's team lead in points (7) and is tied for second on the team in goals (2). Hlavaty has also notched three assists on the year.

The Terriers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to UMass at 1 p.m. in Amherst, Mass.
