Ten Local Schools in Big Dance

Two brackets Laden with New England

Ten New England colleges qualified for the 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket announced Monday.

America East Champion Vermont (9-9-2) will play Dartmouth (11-4-2) in the first round, with the winner of that match to face No. 3 seed UConn (18-2-1). In that same bracket, Providence (9-7-2) will face Old Dominion, the winner earning a date with sixth-seeded Brown (15-1-1).

On the opposite side of the bracket, Boston University (9-6-4), which earned an at-large bid into the dance, takes on Atlantic-10 champ UMass (13-7-1) in an in-state match-up. The victor gets another Mass. powerhouse, Boston College (15-4-1) in the second round.

Wrapping up play in that bracket, Central Connecticut State (8-8-3) draws the Crimson of Harvard University (12-3-2)

The first round of the 2007 College Cup will start this Friday and Saturday in various sites across the country.
