FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Revolution waived little-used forward Argenis Fernandez on Tuesday.

The Costa Rican forward was signed by the Revs last March after playing his entire professional career with Santos de Guapiles of Costa Rica’s Primera Division. He was loaned by the Revs to Costa Rican power LD Alajuelense on July 2, 2008, where he spent the remainder of the 2008 calendar year.

Fernandez, 22, made two substitute appearances for the Revs before being loaned out, and then made 12 total appearances and scored two goals for Alajuelense.

With his departure, the team has opened an international roster spot, which will be filled by recently-signed Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Osei once his International Transfer Certificate is received.
