FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The Revolution announced signed Cameroon forward Stephane Assengue Ombiogno to an MLS contract, the club announced Thursday. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Assengue Ombiogno will occupy one of the team’s seven available international roster spots and will join the team pending the receipt of his U.S. P-1 Visa.

The 19-year-old comes to the Revolution from Daga Young Stars, a regional team in Western African country of Cameroon.

“Stephane is a young forward who we believe has potential to make a great impact on the Revolution,” Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Burns said in a club statement. “We’re looking forward to his arrival after he obtains his Visa and helping him acclimate to MLS.”

The Revolution’s next game is Saturday against the New York Red Bulls. It is not known when Assengue Ombiogno will be ready to appear in game action.
