Building upon that win and keeping the momentum going won't be easy with a trip to Colorado on tap for Saturday night. The Revs are well rested for the first time in months, but haven't won in Colorado since June 15, 2002.
Colorado, while in the midst of another mediocre season, is 7-4-1 at home and 3-2-0 since interim coach Gary Smith took over for former Revs’ coach Fernando Clavijo.
With just six games remaining until the start of the playoffs, the Revs sit in second place, six points behind the Columbus Crew with a game in hand. Sitting just three points back is the Chicago Fire which has defeated the Revs in all three matches this season, so home field advantage or even avoiding Chicago all together in the first round of the playoffs should be a good motivator for the Revs when finishing off the rest of the regular season.
On Saturday the Revs should have nearly everyone available with the exception of Adam Cristman, who is out for the rest of the season. The clubs has also had 10 days of rest for the first time since July.
With Colorado also relatively injury free and rounding into form this should be a true test of where the team stands at this point in the season.
