After 70 minutes of scoreless action on Sunday evening, Danielle Kot gave her side a 1-0 advantage after finishing a feed from Alison Martino.
Former University of Louisville striker Jamie Craft ended the game as a contest in the 83rd minute as she put her side 2-0 up after great work from Alex Crown.
"After the loss on Saturday evening it was imperative that we picked up three points against New York," said Gallagher. "We have been struggling with a number of injuries of late so it is testament to the character of the side that we were able to churn out a victory."
The Renegades entered Sunday’s game without the services of Laura Grace Robinson, MT McDonnell, Rachel Smith, Rachel Lim and Tori Huster. Gallagher's side was dealt a further blow when Marcy Gans had to be replaced in the 26th minute of play due to injury.
"We have had to contend with a number of injuries of late which is always difficult," said Gallagher. "We now have a full week to rest and recover so hopefully we will have a number of faces back before next weekend."
Despite being ravaged by injuries, second half strikes from Kot and Craft were enough to earn the three points.
"We have set ourselves up nicely for the season run-in," said Gallagher. "We now have the luxury of playing four of our last five games at home and that is something we are very excited about."
