Franklin Pierce standout Gabriela Demoner will join the Renegades this season. |
Demoner collected NCSAA All American Honors along with the Northeast 10 conference player of the year award. She also played for her native Brazil in the 2007 World University Games, where the team earned a bronze medal.
“Gabriella has phenomenal ability and she has showcased her talents at the collegiate and International levels,” said coach Darren Gallagher.
Swede native Therese Luckner will be coming to the Renegades after spending time with the QBIQ Karistad squad of the Women’s Premier League. She is also a former teammate of current Renegade captain Lauren Maclver.
“Her experience in the Swedish and Norwegian professional ranks will be invaluable to the squad as we prepare our assault on the 2008 W-League,” said assistant coach Mark McDevitt.
Pistorious joins the Renegades after a four year stint at Texas A&M where she won several awards. She was the National Player of the Year in 2007 and also received NCSAA All American Honors as she was the leader in scoring at the division one level.
“She comes to us with a huge reputation and she has all the assets to be one of the leading players in W-League this season,” Gallagher said.
Next is Utah native Allison Martino. Martino scored three goals and seven assists during the 2007 campaign and was named to the Big XII First Team All Conference. Allison is known for both scoring and the ability to manufacture goals.
“Allison is a fantastic talent and to be named All Conference in the high profile Big XII is testament to her ability,” said assistant coach Mark McDevitt.
Rounding out the threesome is midfielder Laura Grace Robins who was one of the top players in the Big XII. A technically sound player, Gallagher has ability in the air and on the ground to score.
“Her ability both on the ground and in the air is fantastic and we expect her to bring those attributes to the W-league this season,” Gallagher said.
The Boston Renegades will kick off their 2008 W-League season at 4:00 p.m. verse the Jersey Sky Blue at Bowditch stadium.
