Ralston, Twellman To Miss Extended Time

One Month at Least for Both

April 4, 2008

The news on Taylor Twellman just got a little worse.

Although the Revolution’s all-time leading scorer underwent successful surgery on his right knee Wednesday, he’s expected to be out 6-8 weeks, slightly longer than the six weeks originally forecasted.

Meanwhile, the club released the prognosis on midfielder Steve Ralston. The captain is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a dislocated left shoulder in the Revs’ 3-0 season opening win over Houston Saturday.

Twellman missed that match after tearing his medial meniscus in his right knee in training the Thursday before. Head team physician Dr. Bertram Zarins performed the operation on Twellman at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
