Brett Uttley (Jamestown, R.I.) scored the lone goal of the contest for the first tally of his career. The Bobcats improve their record to 2-0-2 this season with their second-straight win, while Army drops to 1-5.

Our success has been on goals coming from new places this season, said Quinnipiac head coach Eric Da Costa. This was not our best game, but good teams always find a way to win and we have been doing that recently.

Hall has now gone the last 355:59 of play without allowing an opponent to score. The Quinnipiac netminder turned away a season-high nine shots in the game to earn his second win of the season.

Freddy (Hall) made one of the best saves Ive seen a keeper make in a long time tonight, Da Costa said. He made a huge save on a free kick for us in the final minutes of the game that sealed the win.

Neither team scored in the first half as both goalies held their ground in net. Uttley broke the tie in the 57th minute on a shot from midfield. After receiving a pass and crossing over midfield, the redshirt freshman put an arching shot from the right side of the field that found its way past the Black Knights Nick Alexander in goal.

Uttley is the third Quinnipiac player in the last two games to score his first career goal with Conor Murphy (Wallingford, Conn.) and Tim Quigley (Ridgefield, Conn.) netting the first of their collegiate careers against NJIT.

Quinnipiac returns home on Saturday at 4 p.m. as it hosts the Iona Gaels. The game marks the beginning of the Bobcats six-game home stand that will take the team into Northeast Conference play in the coming weeks.
