Power Out for Voltage

Ladies Drop to 0-7

June 9, 2008

The Vermont Lady Voltage dropped two more games to fall to remain winless (0-7) in 2008.

The Voltage lost, 2-1, to the Rochester Rhinos and 1-0 to the Hamilton Avalanche in W-League action this weekend.

Vermont actually led, 1-0, after Patricia Spielman buried a Gabriela Bonfigli feed just nine minutes into the game. But Rochester would battle back, socring one goal in the 28th minute and the game-winner in the 81st.

Sunday, the Voltage couldn’t get anything past Avalanche goalkeeper Amy Holt despite sending six shots her way. Vermont keeper Catherine Cadieux was almost equal to the task, making eight stops of her own, but allowing a 53rd-minute goal that would be the difference.

Vermont next plays Wednesday at the Ottawa Fury.
