The Western Mass. Pioneers will kick of their season April 25 at the Harrisburg City Islanders.
The Pioneers’ 20-game slate was announced with the rest of the 2009 United Soccer Leagues Second Division schedule Wednesday.
Western Mass. finished sixth in the 10-team league last year, its 5-9-6 record good for 20 points in the standings.
The USL Second Division season kicks off Friday, April 17 with Crystal Palace Baltimore playing host to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The regular season schedule wraps up with three matches Saturday, August 15.
The playoffs will feature the top five teams in the regular season standings and the championship will be played August 29 and will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel.
