Marko Perovic continued his impressive form, scoring a free kick goal in the second half to cancel out Philadelphia Unions (4-8-3, 15 points) early lead and earn the New England Revolution (4-9-3, 15 points) a point on the road in the teams first MLS game since July 10th.

Perovic scored the equalizer for the Revs in the 71st minute after winning a free kick about 30 yards from goal. The Serbian midfielder took a shot around the wall that bounced just in front of goal and over a diving Chris Seitz for Perovics fourth goal in five games.

Sebastian Le Toux had given the Union the lead in the 25th minute. The French midfielder got the ball after some nice hold-up play by Danny Mwanga and curled a shot from just inside the box past goalkeeper Matt Reis and into the upper corner.

Sainey Nyassi had the first opportunity of the match 14 minutes in after some good build-up play led to Chris Tierney finding the 21-year-old Gambian in space in the right side of the box. Nyassi took a touch forward, seemingly cutting down his own angle to shoot, and then sent his effort just wide of the far post.

Le Toux nearly had his second goal of the day in first half stoppage time from a free kick from just outside the box. His effort looked to be dipping under the crossbar, but Reis got a hand to it to tip the shot over the net.

The Revs had a shout for a penalty in the 54th minute when a long cross from the right wing found Zack Schilawski. Schilawski headed the ball towards goal, but his effort appeared to be blocked by the arm of a Union defender. Referee Jasen Anno waved away the Revs protests.

The visitors had another great opportunity in the 66th minute when Tierney got the ball off a throw in and quickly turned and sent a cross into the box. Substitute Kenny Mansally headed the ball down to Shalrie Joseph, just a couple yards from goal, but Danny Califf managed to get a foot in to clear it over the bar.

Another Perovic set piece set up a dangerous chance in the 74th minute. This time off a corner kick Perovic found Mansally, whose header was saved by a well positioned Seitz.

Reis came up big in the 88th minute, twice coming off his line to make big saves and keep the score knotted at 1-1.

The Revs return to SuperLiga action on Wednesday, taking on Mexican side Puebla at Gillette Stadium in the semifinals of the competition.
