The Cranston, R.I. native, who played central defense for the Revs, started the game at right back and played the full 90 minutes of a 1-1 draw with Vejle.

The former MLS Defender of the Year also drew a red card in the 42nd minute after he was fouled by Vejle midfielder Allen Gaarde.

"Personally, I am not completely satisfied with my performance," Parkhurst told media members after the game. "But I had the opportunity to be in the game and at the highest level of Danish football today.

"This week, I will watch the video of the match and learn from it. I am glad to be up and running with my debut, but I know I can get better."

Parkhurst, drafted by New England in the first round (ninth overall) out of Wake Forest, appeared in 115 games in his four-year Revolution career. He left the club on a free transfer after his contract expired in December.
