With Dallas up 1-0 in the 56th minute, Nyassi latched on to a long pass out of the midfield by Shalrie Joseph. Nyassi juked FCD defender George John and went toward goal, launching a left-footed 18-yard shot that beat Dallas goalkeeper Ray Burse on the far post.

Nyassi’s Goal of the Week nod is the second one of his career and the 11th in club history.

In 2004, the award’s inaugural season, Steve Ralston won twice (Wks. 15 and 29) and Joe Franchino once (Wk. 5). In 2005, Taylor Twellman won twice (Wks. 1 and 24) and Clint Dempsey once (Wk. 5), while Dempsey also won the award in Week 28 of 2006. In 2007, Twellman took home Goal of the Week honors in Weeks 4 and 24, while Nyassi had the honors in 2008’s Week 1.

After a bye in the schedule this weekend, the Revolution don’t play again until next Friday, April 17, at D.C. United.
