Nine Area Players Invited to MLS Combine

Two Each from UConn, Boston College

Nine players from area colleges were among the 65 seniors invited to participate in the 2009 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine next month.

The combine, which will be held Jan. 9-15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., pits the 65-player list into four different teams that will compete throughout the week.

Among the players invited are Boston College goalkeeper Chris Brown and midfielder Paul Gerstenberger; Brown defender Rhett Bernstein; Dartmouth �keeper Sean Milligan; Harvard forward Michael Fucito; Providence forward Ryan Maduro; Quinnipiac striker Graciano Brito; and University of Connecticut back Oscar Castillo and midfielder Akeem Priestley.
