The US dominated possession while Ireland sat back and defended for most of the game. In the 72nd minute Natasha Kai gave the United States the lead with her 15th goal of the year on an assist from Carli Lloyd.

Moylan entered the game as an outside midfielder and helped create Ireland’s best chance of the game. In the 90th minute, Moylan received the ball at midfield and played a through ball to Aine O’Gorman, who chipped the ball past USA goalkeeper Brianna Scurry.

As the ball looked destined to go in the net to earn a historic draw for Ireland, Heather Mitts came out of nowhere and cleared it off the line to preserve the 1-0 win for the US.

Moylan currently leads the Chargers with eight goals and an assist. New Haven is 3-3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
