New England Rivals Face Off

Voltage To Host Phantoms Saturday

June 18, 2009

Two New England based PDL clubs will hook up this Saturday when then the Vermont Voltage host rival New Hampshire Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. at Burlington High School.

The match marks just the second home game for the Voltage and first since losing their home opener to the Ottawa Fury May 23.

Since the tough loss to the Fury, the Vermont evened its record at 2-2. The team is coming off an intense 4-3 victory over the Immigrants out of Boston and is looking to carry its momentum into this weekends match against the Phantoms.

Over the past ten seasons a twin-state rivalry has developed between the Voltage and the Phantoms.

[The Voltage] have always played at a high level of competition with the Phantoms, coach Bo Vuckovic said. The games are always close and both clubs respect each other a great amount.

The Phantoms come into the match just 1-7-2 after Wednesdays loss to the Fury.
