While the away goal rule means a 1-0 victory would be enough, any win by two goals would also do the trick.
"It's 2-1, we've got one away goal and to play a Trinidadian team with three days' rest we know it's going to be hard," said midfielder Shalrie Joseph. "We know we are at home and we definitely want to move on to the next stage in the Champions League."
A big victory seems unlikely, however, as striker Taylor Twellman has been added to the injury list, joining fellow forwards Kenny Mansally, Kheli Dube, and Adam Cristman. That leaves the Revolution with no proven strikers available. Midfielder Khano Smith, who has seen limited time up top, is the only option available. Steve Ralston, who has seen just a couple of halves up top during the Revs injury problems, is also questionable heading into the match.
Fortunately, the defense is completely healthy and in much better shape than they were during the first leg. With Matt Reis also back in action, a shutout for the Revs certainly seems possible.
With the numerous injuries up top and the depth of options in the back it looks likely the Revs are all but certain to take a conservative approach and play for the 1-0 victory. The Revs had trouble creating chances down in Trinidad and rarely threatened to score outside of Mauricio Castro's penalty goal.
However, New England is always dangerous on set pieces with Joseph in the box and that may just be the Revs best hope to move on.
