Mixed Results for Stingrays

Rhode Island Wins and Loses 5-1 Decisions

The Rhode Island Stingrays tasted opposite ends of 5-1 decisions this weekend.

The PDL club defeated the New Jersey Rangers, 5-1, on Saturday then fell by the same score to the New Jersey Ironbound Express on Sunday.

Providence College’s Matthew Marcin scored twice in Saturday’s victory. Teammate Timothy Ritter and URI’s Dominic Petrarca and Jonathan Pereira each added talleys.

Pereira also added the lone score for the Stingrays in Sunday’s defeat.

Rhode Island (1-1-1) next plays Saturday when it hosts the Ocean City Barons at 7:00 p.m. at Rhode Island College.
