Lady Voltage Stay Winless

Fall to 0-9 on Year

The Vermont Lady Voltage came close but dropped a tight 2-1 decision to the Hamilton Avalanche Saturday to remain winless at 0-9 on the W-League season.

The Lady Voltage – who suffered a 4-0 defeat to the Ottawa Fury Wednesday – tied Saturday’s game, 1-1 in the 25th minute. Midfielder Erin Pichiotino drove the ball through to a running Stephanie Leotti, who after the first shot was blocked, persisted and slid the ball into goal.

The Avalanche, who took an early 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, struck for the game-winner in the 75th minute, when Hamilton sent a through ball past the Voltage defense.
