Keene St. Upsets Williams

Deals Ephs First Loss of Season

September 27, 2007

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Alex Horne and the Keene State men’s soccer team dealt Williams College its first loss of the season, 1-0, yesterday.

Horne, a Harvard, Mass. native, scored 13 minutes into the second half to left Keene St. to 3-4-2 on the season.

After flubbing a point-blank opportunity earlier, Horne made the most of his opportunity when he was sent in on goal by Pelse Mera (Manchester, N.H.).

"I missed a couple of good chances earlier, so I knew I had to get this one," Horne told Keene St. Athletics. "Pelse gave me a great ball, I had both corners of the net open, and fortunately, I picked the right side."

Cal Mintz (Westport, Mass.) made recorded five saves for second shutout of the season. Andrew Graham stopped four shots for Williams.
