FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph was voted Major League Soccer’s player of the week following his two-goal performance in the Revolution’s 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday.

Joseph’s two-goal performance was his third multiple-goal game of his career, and included his team-best seventh and eighth goals of the season, a new career high.

Joseph also set a career high with eight assists this year and while splitting the season between defensive midfield and forward, the versatile 31-year-old has also been the Revolution’s driving force on the attacking end, scoring or assisting on 16 of the club’s 31 goals this season.

This is Joseph’s first-ever player of the week award, and the team’s third of the season. Taylor Twellman earned the award following a two-goal performance, including his 100th career goal, against the New York Red Bulls in Week 12, while Kheli Dube’s hat trick against Real Salt Lake in Week 23 also earned him the honor.

The Major League Soccer player of the week is selected each week by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).
