Baskind, who is among the conference leaders with six goals and seven assists for 19 points, played tremendously in Saturday’s 2-1 victory in double overtime over Columbia. The win clinched Harvard’s first Ivy League title since 1999 and its first NCAA berth since the 2004 campaign.
The rookie from Framingham, Mass., had a game-high seven shots against the Lions, two of which reached the net. She had three shots alone in overtime, including one that hit the cross bar.
Baskind was previously tabbed Ivy League Rookie of the Week Oct. 20.
Mkosana, meanwhile, was also named Ivy League Player of the Week for his role in two critical wins for the Dartmouth men‘s team. It is the fourth time that Mkosana, a forward, has been named rookie of the week and it is his first player of the week award.
Mkosana played a big offensive role with seven points as Dartmouth (10-5-1, 4-1-1 Ivy) defeated New Hampshire and Cornell to remain in the hunt for the Ivy League Championship and in good position for an NCAA Tournament bid.
In the most important game of the week, Mkosana came through with his first career hat trick, scoring three goals to lead his team to a 3-2 victory at Cornell. Mkosana scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game, both trademark goals in which he beat the Big Red keeper one-on-one. After Cornell pulled within 3-2, Mkosana put the game out of reach with his third goal in the 78th minute.
Earlier in the week, Mkosana provided the assist on Andrew Olsen’s overtime game-winner against New Hampshire.
