Holy Cross Player Recognized
Miller Nets Offensive Player of the Week
October 22, 2008
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men’s soccer forward Kyle Miller was named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week for his hat trick in the Crusaders’ win over the weekend.
Holy Cross beat Navy, 4-0, on Saturday Oct. 18 thanks in large part to Miller.
Miller struck early in the first half, at the 2:31 mark, as senior midfielder Andreas Andrews crossed the ball to him inside the 18-yard box and headed it into the left side of the net. Less than 14 minutes later, at the 16:19 mark, senior defender Jerry Dickinson headed the ball to Miller who headed the ball into the ride corner of the net, making the score 2-0.
Less than three minutes into the second half, at the 47:28 mark, Miller grabbed a rebound off a save by Navy’s goalkeeper Nolan Grebb and chipped it into the right corner of the goal, for his third goal of the game.
Miller leads Holy Cross in scoring with six goals for 12 points.
