Harvard, Dartmouth Round Out Staff
Hire New Assistant Coaches
April 8, 2008
Harvard has hired New Mexico assistant coach Carl Junot as an assistant on new coach Jamie Clark’s men’s soccer staff while former Dartmouth women's soccer standout Mary McVeigh ('03) is returning to her alma mater as an assistant for her former team.
Junot previously served as an assistant coach at New Mexico for six seasons, including five years on the Lobo sidelines as a full-time assistant. In addition to his coaching duties, Junot served as the assistant director of the Lobo Soccer Academy. He was also the director of the Olympic development program at New Mexico from 2005-06.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have Carl Junot join the Crimson program,” Clark said in a statement released by the school. “Carl is one of the countries top assistants and was a catalyst in transforming New Mexico into a national powerhouse.”
Junot and Clark, who replaced nine-year incumbent John Kerr when the latter we to Duke, worked together at New Mexico.
McVeigh is back on the Dartmouth sidelines after four seasons as an assistant coach at Lehigh. An All-America in 2002, she was a four-year star for the Big Green and ranks in the top-10 in all six career and season scoring categories.
"I am thrilled to have Mary join our coaching staff," said head coach Angie Hind in a statement released by the school. "With her playing background, coaching experience and having personally excelled as a student-athlete at Dartmouth, I am excited for the impact she will have within our program."
