Harrisburg Upends Western Mass.
Earn Right to Face Revs on June 30

TAMPA, FL – The Harrisburg City islanders earned the right to face the New England Revolution after beating the Western Mass Pioneers in the second round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Tuesday night.
In a battle of two USL Second Division teams, the Pioneers took the league leading City Islanders all the way to penalties after a scoreless regulation, but ultimately fell in PKs, 4-3.
Harrisburg will now travel to New Britain, Conn. to take on the Revolution on June 30 at Veterans Stadium.
The Revolution hav played four previous U.S. Open Cup matches at Veterans Stadium, boasting a 3-1 record all time. Since 2007, the Revs have gone 3-0 at the stadium in USOC play, including a penalty kick victory over the Carolina Railhawks (USL-1) in the 2007 semifinals.
In Tuesday’s match, goalkeeper Chase Harrison made back-to-back saves in the second and third rounds to lead Harrisburg onto the next round with a 4-3 decision in the tiebreaker.
