September 23, 2009

After three years of planning and nearly two years since it broke ground, Fore Kicks' newest indoor and outdoor sports complex in Marlborough (Mass.) is celebrating its Grand Opening with a Community Open House on Oct. 3 from 12-5 p.m.

Fore Kicks II

Festivities will include free goody bags for first 200 people, moonwalks, wave slides, face painting, open play soccer, basketball and volleyball, golf range with golf tips from PGA pro, sport contests with prizes, video arcades, drawing for sport tickets and equipment, lasertag and much more.

Guest appearances will include Slyde the Fox from the New England Revolution, and representatives from the Boston Cannons and Boston Blazers lacrosse teams. All activities will be totally free to the public.

Located off the Simarano Drive exit of I495 near the intersections of I495, route 9 and the Mass Turnpike, Fore Kicks Marlboro is the largest indoor/outdoor sports complex of its kind in New England according to Tom Teager, Founder and President of Fore Kicks.

Similar to the company's Fore Kicks complex located in Norfolk MA which opened in 2002, Fore Kicks Marlboro features a 135,000 square foot air-conditioned indoor facility with five indoor turf fields plus two full size basketball courts. Two state of the art outdoor lighted turf soccer fields allow for year round training and use. Additional facilities include full concessions, WIFI internet cafe, pro shop and fitness center (opening later this year) plus conference room facilities for up to 300 people complete with second floor observation areas.

Programs start for children as young as 1.5 yrs old with the Lil'Kickers Academy. Tournaments, leagues and clinics for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, field hockey, flag football, and volleyball are just some of the programs and sports that are available in the new complex. Birthday parties and Lasertag round out the offerings.

As part of the Open House, Fore Kicks is encouraging participants to bring a canned food item with them to be donated to the local Food Pantry by giving each donor a free water bottle courtesy of Fore Kicks and Coca Cola. Fore Kicks will be matching donations with an additional $1 for every canned food item received. Proceeds will be given to the Marlboro Food Pantry.
