Fore Kicks II Breaks Ground in Marlborough

Indoor/Outdoor Facility to Be Biggest of its Kind in NE

After almost two years in the works, construction workers, city councilors and the Mayor broke ground on the new Fore Kicks II facility in Marlborough, Mass. this Monday.

Fore Kicks II, located just off interstate 495 near the Route 9 intersection, is set to open in the summer of 2008. The huge indoor/outdoor facility is finally in the construction phase after nearly two years of getting permits and closing on the site.

Complete with a 135,000 square foot indoor facility along with two 120x65 yard outdoor synthetic turf soccer fields, the massive facility will be the largest of its kind in New England.

The inside will feature five indoor synthetic turf fields, two indoor basketball courts, a driving range, fitness center and a pro shop.

Fore Kicks, which also has a facility in Norfolk, Mass., will other multiple sport programs, clinics and leagues, such as soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, basketball, volleyball, futsal, softball, flag football, golf instruction and laser tag.
