FC Greater Boston Boys U12 Team Goes Undefeated at the Jefferson Cup

The spring 2011 youth soccer season is almost here, and that means teams from around New England are heading out to tournaments. One of those teams is the FC Greater Boston Bolts U12 boys team, winners of the Jefferson Cup's Elite 8v8 bracket over March 11-13 in Richmond, Va.

The boys went undefeated in group play against teams from Virginia and Maryland, before earning a 1-0 win on PKs against the Bethesda Green (MD) club and knocking off Ohio Premier in the finals by a 6-1 score. The team wasn't the only Bolts representatives at the tourney as Bolts U14 and U18 boys teams also competed at the Jefferson Cup in their age groups. 

FC Greater Boston Bolts are of course one of the longest tenured and most successful clubs in the region, having been founded in 1986 and currently a member of the United States Soccer Development Academy. As for the Jefferson Cup, it has been around for 30 years and was named the #1 youth tournament for boys and #4 youth tournament for girls in the country in 2009.
