Eleven Locals in USL Showcase

Local Colleges and PDL Teams Well-Represented

TAMPA, FL � Eleven players with local ties will participate in next week�s USL Men�s Player Showcase, giving them the opportunity to show their skills in front of top professional coaches.

Overall 90 players will gather in Charleston�s Blackbaud Stadium for the third annual event held from Dec. 14-16. The final 90 were chosen from a pool of 250 applicants from the PDL, college ranks and abroad.

Four Cape Cod Crusaders made the cut, including Comian Gnatiko, Jordan Lynn, Central Connecticut State senior Yan Klukowski and UMass-Lowell alum Edens Chery. Another UMass-Lowell product, Matt Dubois, also is on the list, in addition to three New Hampshire Phantoms: Southern New Hampshire�s Matt Delaney, and University of New Hampshire products Adrian Dubois and Kyle Urso.

Rounding out the 11 are Fairfield University alums Thomas Clements and Sam Bailey, both of whom most recently played for the Westchester Flames, and former UNH midfielder Scott Rowling, who plied his trade with the Reading Rage this summer.

As with previous showcase events, the majority of selected players are drawn from USL�s Premier Development League with 68 of the 90 players having PDL experience.

Last season the USL Men�s Player Showcase provided a platform for 90 prospects to display their abilities to a number of top clubs around the world. Numerous players landed professional contracts in Major League Soccer, the USL First Division, the USL Second Division and with international clubs.
