Western Mass. Drops 2-1 Decision

After surrendering two goals within the first 16 minutes of the match, the Western Mass. Pioneers could must just a Jeff Deren penalty kick the rest of the way in a 2-1 loss to the Charlotte Eagles on Saturday.

The Pioneers, fresh off their 2-0 victory over Boston Olympiakios in the first round of the US Open Cup, fell to 4-4-3 in the USL�s Second Division.

Deren�s PK strike in the 55th minute was too little too later after Dustin Swinehart�s pair of goals in the 13th and 16th minutes put Charlotte up 2-0.
