Castro, 27, has made four appearances for the Honduras National Team nicknamed Los Catrachos all of which came during the 2007 UNCAF Nations Cup, the biennial regional championship of the seven Central American CONCACAF countries.

Honduras will host the 2009 UNCAF Nations Cup beginning Jan. 22, with all 14 games of the tournament to be played at Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in Castros hometown of Tegucigalpa. The competition will determine which Central American nations qualify for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Primarily a left-sided midfielder, Castro recorded three assists in 24 regular-season appearances for the Revolution in 2008, his first season with the club. He also started both of New Englands playoff matches and made appearances in the CONCACAF Champions League, SuperLiga and the U.S. Open Cup. In 30 appearances in all competitions, he notched one goal and four assists.

Castro is one of four MLS players called into the Honduras camp along with Roger Espinoza (Kansas City Wizards), Amado Guevara (Toronto FC) and Ivan Guerrero (D.C. United).

The Revolution opens the 2009 season on Saturday, March 21, when the club travels to play the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium.
