Breakers Hire Interim GM

Crossley Replaces Cummings at Breakers' Helm

August 28, 2009

WESTWOOD, Mass. Andy Crossley has been named the interim General Manager of the Boston Breakers, the team announced Wednesday.

Crossley officially replaces Joe Cummings, who is leaving to become CEO and Executive Director of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Cummings served as President and General Manager of the original Boston Breakers of the Womens United Soccer Association (WUSA) from 2001-2003 and returned to guide the modern edition of the Boston Breakers through their launch in Womens Professional Soccer this season.

Joe leaves very big shoes to fill, but he has also left us with a terrific foundation to build upon, said Crossley. We have a passionate group of season ticket holders and fans and an outstanding front office staff. The next step for the Boston Breakers is to reward our supporters with a trip to the WPS playoffs in 2010.

Crossley was the teams third employee, joining the Breakers in October 2007 as Director of Business Development. In that role, he directed the teams ticket sales, merchandising and customer service programs. Prior to joining the Breakers, Crossley worked in minor league baseball for seven years, including two years as General Manager of the Brockton Rox and Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass. from 2005-2007.
