This will be the first match between the teams since the senior/reserve team relationship was announced in February.
The Breakers - currently 3-2 and second in WPS with 9 points - will take on an Aztec team featuring former players Meotis Erikson, Mary-Frances Monroe and Rebekah Splaine on the roster.
This will be a great opportunity for our team to compete against the best players in the world, said Erikson, who along with Splaine will be Boston Aztec player/coaches this season. These ladies are working extremely hard to make the Breakers and this will be an opportunity for them to be noticed by (Breakers head coach) Tony (DiCicco).
The Breakers are off from WPS action the following weekend, and the match will give them a chance to stay sharp in preparation for their May 31 road game against Sky Blue FC.
Having the Breakers playing a match with the Aztecs on the North Shore is very exciting, said Boston Aztec General Manager Brandon Nelson. Its a great opportunity for fans of soccer to see some of the top talent in the world at a fantastic venue like Amesbury Sports Park.
Admission to the game is $5 for adults or children. Children (17 and under) wearing an Aztec or Breakers shirt will receive free admission. Tickets will be available at the gate starting at 6 p.m. Amesbury Sports Park is located at 12 South Hunt Road.
