Gallington received a touch pass from freshman forward Edvin Worley and beat Yale goalkeeper Travis Chulick (eight saves) at 89:59 to give the visiting Eagles the victory.
The score marked Gallington’s second in the last week (three games) and second of his collegiate career. Both scores represent decisive goals as the Mattapan, Mass., resident also netted the game-winning goal in BC’s 2-1 victory at Fairfield last Wednesday.
Freshman midfielder Nate Bourdeau scored his first career goal to give BC a 1-0 edge at 54:02. The host Bulldogs (4-6-1) responded shortly thereafter. Alex Guzinski headed in Eric Meyer’s corner kick in the 57th minute. The corner represented one of only two attempted by Yale in the game.
Boston College took 11 shots in the first half and 10 in the final 45 minutes to hold a 21-5 shot advantage. Junior forward Mor Avi Hanan, who assisted on Bourdeau’s score, hit a game-high eight shots, including four on net, while Worley finished with four shots in the game.
BC senior goalkeeper Chris Brown made one save to earn his fifth win of the season and 24th of his collegiate career.
The win improved the Eagles to 6-4-2 on the year. The team now prepares to face consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in Virginia (Oct. 17) and Wake Forest (Oct. 25).
