FC Greater Boston Bolts Expands Into Rhode Island
Providence-based Bayside FC, Preeminent RI Soccer Club, Becomes Bayside FC Bolts
June 9, 2010
WALTHAM, MA - FC Greater Boston Bolts, one of the country’s premier youth soccer clubs, has announced its expansion into Rhode Island through a new affiliation agreement with the Providence-based Bayside FC. As the first-ever affiliate of the Bolts outside of greater Boston, Bayside is changing its name to the Bayside FC Bolts.
Bolts and Bayside coaches will work together year round, sharing knowledge and experience to promote the development of all coaches and players. The teams will participate in several joint training sessions and play friendlies that will help create an environment for player development and positive competition. The clubs also plan to co-host tournaments.
"We are excited to welcome the Bayside soccer club – the talented coaches and players – as an affiliate of the Greater Boston Bolts,” said Brian Ainscough, Bolts coaching director and architect of this relationship. Ainscough, who is also the Northeastern University men’s head soccer coach, continued, “Bayside is the preeminent soccer club in Rhode Island, with good soccer people who have the same interests – a focus on player development and respect for the game.”
Chaka Daley, the Bolts BU16 Academy coach and head coach of Providence College’s men’s soccer team, will be active in coaching education and player development as a technical director of the Bayside FC Bolts.
"Working alongside the Greater Boston Bolts will prove to be a fantastic experience for both our players and staff. It is an honor to affiliate with the nationally renowned club," said John Mark Andrade, Bayside FC Bolts president. "Our affiliation will further enhance our players’ development and allow them exposure to the Bolts Development Academy U-16 and U-18 teams. We look forward to working together to develop players and continue the great tradition both clubs have for years to come.”
