CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three second-half goals propelled the Harvard men’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Vermont Sunday at Ohiri Field.

Preseason All-American Michael Fucito scored the first goal for Harvard in the 52nd minute, tallying his fourth goal of the year. This is the third consecutive game that Fucito has managed to score a goal, scoring once against Duke and twice against North Carolina State earlier this month.

The second Crimson goal came less than five minutes later when junior Adam Rousmaniere scored a header off a cross from sophomore Alex Chi to put Harvard up 2-0 with 32:53 left in the game. It was Rousmaniere’s first goal of the season and the first assist for Chi.

Finally with 19:42 left in the match, senior John Stamatis scored his first goal of the season - an unassisted tally, to give the Crimson a 3-0 lead.

In damp and muddy playing conditions, the Crimson maintained a consistent offensive assault through both halves with seven and nine shots taken during the first and second half, respectively.

Defensively, Joseph Alexander earned his first shutout of the season, saving three Catamount shots. The win brings the junior’s season record to 2-1 and his save total increases to nine in 225 minutes of play.

Catamounts’ goalkeeper Roger Scully stopped eight shots in almost 80 minutes of play and gave up three goals on the afternoon.

The Crimson outshot the Catamounts, 16-6.
