November 16, 2008

The win, the Terriers' first championship since 2004 and the program's seventh overall, gives the team an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

BU (11-5-3) will be making its second straight NCAA appearance and 14th overall. The Terriers will learn their fate during the NCAA selection show on Monday, Nov. 17 between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on ESPNews. Binghamton (12-6-3), along with Albany (12-4-2) and Vermont (9-4-7), remain hopeful to grab an at-large berth.

Oh, who also scored in BU's 2-1 win over Vermont in the semifinals on Wednesday, recorded the lone score of the game in the 80th minute off a feed from junior midfielder Richy Dorman.

Oh, the Most Outstanding Player of the championship, took the pass, chipped the ball over Binghamton keeper Jason Stenta from 20 yards out and watched it sail over the keeper's outstretched hand and into the left-hand side of the goal before sprinting to the sideline in jubilation.

Binghamton's best opportunity came with 5:29 left in the first half as senior midfielder Ryan Tomko unloaded a shot, but Terrier goalkeeper Hrafn Daviddson was there to make the stop. The Terriers, led by senior sweeper Dan Schultz, held the Bearcats to just four shots overall.

Oh was joined on the All-Championship team by teammates Samuel Appiah, Dan Schultz and Shaun Taylor. Also on the team were Cody Germain, Cameron Keith and Barry Neville from Binghamton, Erik DiLorenzo and Taylor Mikael McNamara from Albany, Lee Stephane Kouadio and Connor Tobin from Vermont, Carlos Villa from Hartford and Kyle Urso from New Hampshire.
